Wait, the Movie is Done?

Wait, our movie is done you say? And we are premiering it tonight? I'm going to throw up. So you're saying that after two years of putting together something that no one has seen yet we have to show it to over 100 people in a big room on a big screen? Tonight? Will there be liquor? There will. Good. I'm going to start drinking now. Do I have to be there? Can I sit in the back? I'm going to cry. I can't believe this. I can't sleep. I'm going to jump. For joy. I'm jumping I'm jumping I'm jumping. Thank you thank you thank you THANK GOD for perseverance and bravery. I'm going to need a lot. If I'm going to keep doing this. Cuz I think we are. I think we are crazy enough to do it all again. Why? It's worth it. It's so worth the pain. Pain. Wait, you said we have to show this movie tonight right? Oh GOD!!!!

November Update

Hi! We watched the final rough edit of OTC. We are FINALLY moving on to sound and graphics for real. We are even working on a DVD cover. Thanks for your patience!!!

September Update

Hi! We are going to view another edit of the movie on Sunday September 21st. I know it seems that everytime I leave an update I say "We are watching another edit." But it's true. And everytime it gets better. We are all putting in our time on top of our full time *jobs* so it leaves about twice a month that we sit down and view the progress that Angela has made. Kudos to Angela for perservering with us and believing in this project. Angela works at the Art Institute and is a graduate of Columbia College. She did some film work in New York before coming back to Chicago and linking up with Jessica. It was fate! She has been a very honest and vital part of this project and we appreciate her SO much. In fact we are already talking about another mockumentary to be shot next summer in the plain state of Indiana. We won't give away the idea, but if another fun project intrigues you, keep your ears open this winter.

The movie is being polished right now. Editing is unpredictable so thanks for being patient cast! We want to really put our best into it. We are working on the DVD cover in a couple of weeks and tying up some other loose ends.

We still need some music. There are some tunes we want to use but are open for suggestions. So let us know if you have something to contribute.

Harold Ramis

Joel (Harold Ramis Jr. in the movie) was at Second City for CIF and saw Harold Ramis. We asked Joel if he invited Ramis to take part in our film for which he replied "Well I tried to fire up a convo but he said Thank You and walked away." Good try Joel, good try. Maybe next time. But we'll just put the offer on the table officially: If Harold Ramis is reading this blog (not likely) we would like to offer you a part in our movie! Please be in touch.

Editing Process Part Deux

We are working hard! Or should we say our editor is working her ass off to get this movie finished. We are spending 3 days at her house this week. Don't worry, we are still plugging away. And so far, it's a gem!

Also, Blam! just recorded their Chicago song with the help of Joel Weirsema and his sound expertise. Soon, we will be putting out some teasers from the movie.

Editing Process Part 1 FINISHED

Just finished logging all of the tapes and officially passed them on to our editors. Watching each and every person put their heart and soul into this film has been rewarding and amazing. There were times in watching these tapes I was moved to tears because of the chemistry that some of us had. Stay tuned for the next step.

And Scene Eileen

Eileen has been hired to travel on a boat for Second City's touring company. She will leave on December 13th for four months. We are very happy for Eileen and wish her lots and lots of fun! Don't blow your paycheck at the bar everynight and go to bed with AT LEAST one captain Eileen.

We logged more tapes this weekend. Connie and Kate had some serious tension in the bathroom. Or maybe it was the pregnancy test results? Follow that by some improv by Blam! that consists of a dad trying to get his daughter to kiss him? And some racist cab scene? Wow, that sounds cliche. Or is it? Anyway, Tim Scarth has another thing coming if he thinks that he can screw every girl in the improv world.

One of our actors, Eileen Montelione, who plays the role of Connie, has been asked to audition for The Second City's touring company. She auditioned yesterday and received a callback. GOOD LUCK to EILEEN!!

Editing has Begun!

I have been logging tapes for about a week now. Actors, remember how hard we laughed on set? Well I about peed my pants on several occasions. Blam! has some fabulous on camera chemistry and Stewarts confusion about what a "head shop" was, I had to pause the tape and rewind. Fast forward to the box office scenes and the interaction between Lyle and Mary Beth about having sell tickets in the kitchen. For not knowing each other at all, there was some excellent improvising. During the shoot I couldn't be present for that scene. It as a delight to watch it now.
